Wayne Kerr 6425 RLC Meter

Goal: Building a UI for control Wayne Kerr 6425 RLC using GPIB industrial protocol.

Applications

Old industrial devices like Wayne Kerr 6425 RLC meter still can be found in a lot of universities and scientific facilities all around the world. They usually offer an excellent hardware quality and still can be used in manual regime. However, the integration of such devices in more complex systems and automation of measurements and data gathering can be rather challenging task.

In this project we develop a user interface, supporting all commands available on the device, using GPIB industrial interface. Moreover, the software solution allows automated measurement of frequency characteristics with predefined configuration. It also allows generating new and modification of existing configurations. All data are plotted in real time on the user interface and automatically collected in a *.csv file at the end of the measurement.

All functions for manual control of the device are also available for the users.
